Any advantage of using a BB K as opposed to a /6 or SB K with a Schumaker kit? Headers fit better?

There are several threads on here about how there's more room with the slant six K frame. I have no direct experience, but that seems to be "the word on the street". @Jim Lusk would be an excellent person to get in on this.

Stock mopar K ?? If so they are all pretty much all made the same with exception of motor mounts location/configuration. I just converted a 67 slant sux K into a small block V8 k. Not sure about big block ones, however anytime your going to put a big block in an A body, its like stuffing 10 lbs of **** in a 5 lb bag. There is never any room, unless you go Hemi Denny, coilovers, and rack n pinion. Then you got all the room you could ever wish for.

Not really any advantage. The mounts are so far forward that it's not an issue with exhaust. I build Direct Connection copies when I have cores (73-76 V8), but that source has fairly well dried up.

Sure looks good thou ! 440/4speed
BB in SB K with Schumaker all around
Had a few issues but worked around most all.

Did mine about 6/7 years ago. 6 cylinder K and Schumacher kit working great. Auto to 5 speed. Avatar car is that car.

Heater delete but yes if had .

An original big block K frame requires a special drivers side motor mount which is hard to find, costs big bucks and it also requires the block to have the right mounting boss cast into it, some blocks don't have this.

The old Direct Connection style K frame uses stock style mid 70's spool type motor mounts which are easier to find and will bolt to any block but space gets a little tight where the motor mount and the steering box want to live in close proximity with each other.

Header clearance generally sucks on a big block A body regardless of which "stock" style K frame you choose, the motor mounts aren't in the way of the pipes, it's everything else.

Hedman B body headers do fit a low deck engine in an A body, I have them in my car w/Direct Connection style K frame. The passenger side needs one little dent down by the torsion bar but the driver side needs quite a bit of mutilation to clear the steering box and column, but for how cheap they are compared to other brands I feel its a fair trade off.

Schumacher headers work well for this application. Some people might not like them, went with a smaller starter. Clear everything

I'm in the process of finishing up this Duster project. I used a DC type K frame with the relocated spool mounts. I also used TTI headers and they fit pretty well. The driver side collector tubes rubbed against the pittman arm so I had to put a slight dimple in one spot.

If I was starting over I'd move the engine back another 1/4 inch from where it is. I also would open up the core support another inch for the radiator. Other than that I think it came out okay.

My Friend , I turn 50 in OCT. 15, I swear somehow some way to drive it by then !
Wish me Luck ?

Damn youngster...I haven't even driven my Barracuda IN MY 50s (took it off the road right after I turned 48) and it's really unlikely that it will hit the streets before I turn 60 (Oct. 31). It may move under its own power before then, though...

PS, why so Long ?

GTS has been idle even longer, but I was 23 when we bought it so I have enjoyed it. Might get paint on the Plymouth this year then start back on the body on the Dodge. At least we have one running convertible, but my wife can't get in or out of it right now (both hips replaced this year) because it sits too low...damn near as quick as the 340, too...and gets 27 mpg on the highway...and handles better, but don't hit a big pothole...
