Me and the better half celebrating 56 years of wedded bliss, saw this yesterday in Watkins Glen, NY. Thought at first it was an El Camino with a grafted front end. Not so, Pontiac Tempest wagon gave up its life for the rear. Really superior body work.

I actually like that. And I think the '65s were the best looking of all the Goats, so that was a good choice on the front half.
 
sure would have been a LOT less metal work to bolt on a le mans/tempest dog house to an el camino!
 
guy in Baltimore put several together in late 60s- OLds 442, GTO, and Buick Skylarks- some may still be around
 
dog house- the term for the fenders, grille, hood, and bracing

in my early 20s with a 65 A body. This junk ran 11.07 @ 122! Homegrown 455 with a Doug Nash 4+1.

Pontiac actually had a prototype car back in ‘59. Saw this at the Indianapolis Mecum auction last year. It no saled at $340,000.
