360/5.9 stock cam specs

-
thanks for posting that

it's a missing link in my records

awfully wimpy cam for that displacement, and awful close to the stock 318 flat tappet specs.

there's some debate on the LA roller cam being the same as the flat tappet.

love to have that resolved and the reasoning

my suspicions are that it's the same lift but the ramp is faster gaining "under the curve".

I can post some comparisons later tonight exactly what are you looking for YY1?
post your records whatever you have

Thanks, interested to hear your opinion on advancing that cam a few degrees.

Which cam Montclaire
Slant64 is going to degree his Oregon regrind
cam starting today
we will also report on Where Oregon was able to fit the "RT" profile on his stock HR lobe

The stock 360 TBI cam. I know those motors had a reputation of over scavenging the exhaust charge.

stock tbi cam
the one with the shorter exhaust
couple of degrees would not hurt but you can bet the factory has lots of R&d on that application
you need more low end?
running stock exhaust?

Running stock 340/360 pass car log manifolds and factory duals. Otherwise stock 1989 360 with a mopar electronic ignition and edelbrock 318/360 performer intake. Trans is a 727 (1973 with part throttle kick down and transgo 2) with a CR20 converter (about 2400-2600 stall behind a 360). Gears will probably be 3.55s, don’t want to go much higher than that. Curb weight I’m probably 500lbs lighter than the B250 van and 1500lbs lighter than the D250 that it would have come in so maybe I’m overthinking it. Motor is rated at 190 hp/292 torque. It’s not a performance build but no reason to leave any on the table.

I would not change it
with a new timing chain +2 is ok
you do not leave anything on the table all you do is move it around some
get some miles on it before making changes
your motor is basically the same as
slantsix64 's
but he's putting a RT like regrind
I'm going to move that LA cam list to the 318 sticky page
