Veterans On the Board

USAF.... 4yr and done. Don’t consider myself a “veteran”. Close to 3yrs at Minot AFB. Worked in the GP mech shop for 4mos then was picked up for a mobile maintenance team out in the missile field. Last year they sent me out to the end of the Aleutian Islands. About 9 mos into that prison sentence with alcohol privileges, one night both surveillance aircraft and all 4 refuelers and all support staff vanished into the night...... Desert Storm kicked off shortly thereafter. I was worried about my release date being put on indefinite hold (a lot were) but apparently the usaf had plenty of wrench benders and I left AK in March of 91 as planned...
You signed that check, you're a vet. Not a combat vet, but a veteran just the same. Take the time to support veteran causes when you can, how you can. I have friends who are combat vets and sometimes they just need to talk. Those are the times to listen because sometimes they just need to be heard.
