Roughly 30 years ago I moved from small town Alberta, Canada to small city Alberta, Canada. Life decided that things were moving onward. I had two small children and a great wife.......still have them.......not so small anymore! Anyway, when it came time to move I cleaned house. I only had a small house at the time, but, I did have a garage. It was filled with stuff I did not want to or could not move with me. I gave it all away. Engines, antiques, tools etc., and a car. I gave the car to a relative, Cousin Fred. He was more than happy to take it away and I was happy he wanted to. Well, 30 years later, Fred passed away. Sadly he left many unfinished projects. My old car was one of them. So I asked the family what they were going to do with it. Well, it will be mine again.
The story of the car is I got it with a damaged lower control arm. I replaced that and got a decent running engine in it. But, I went away to work and only had water in the block........it froze! Oh well, small block Chev. No great loss. They were $50 a pop back then....still can be. Anyway, it sat in my garage until it was time to move. That is where the relationship ended.........until today. I went back to have a look. I will be retrieving it tomorrow. I am very excited. It's actually still in really good shape, for a 1973 Nova coupe. Yes it is only a 73, but it brings back memories of days gone by.........I was a die hard Nova guy back then!

Road trip!

This car sat for 30 years in this spot. Thank goodness he never let it go to somebody else.

those bumpers look new. Cool reunion. I wish I could find my old high school 71 Honda AN600 sedan.

That is so cool. I can see how it was competition to our dusters.

Do you know of any differences between 73 and 74 novas?? I am not familiar enough to see the differences. I had a 74 here for a short time. Yours brings back memories to me because the 74 was the same color

Thanks, y'all. 73 / 74 are very similar. I can't remember everything, but the 72 and back were a different body. The rear side window had a different angle, on the coupes anyway. Not sure about the hatchbacks. It's been a long time. I guess I will be re-educating myself with knowledge long lost!

I had a 73 when I was in high school.

I got my as handed to me by Mike Edwards red superstocker once !!

They can be made to run because they're so light. I've had the 73 I had in school plus later on I had a 69 I whooped up a 350 HP 396 for. Car went 13 ohs with slicks and 4.10s. I used the factory stock cam, iron intake and stock Quadrajet. They are a good package.

I wasn't cool enough to have a Nova in high school. So I suffered thru it with a 71 Barracuda that I dropped a warm 360 in before the masses saw the potential of a 360. After high school I was allowed to swap that out for a 440.

Looks really solid, "all things come to those who wait", My gold plated Bugatti Veyron shold be here any day! anyway, congrats on the Nova, what would we be without our memories?

The interesting part of this is that the body style for GM actually started in 1968. Chrysler never answered the call until 1970 with the Duster and the Demon.

I love the 68-72 Nova. I am kinda keeping an eye out For a 68-72 for this 396 That I just got done with. I know how to keep an eye out.......
