Non Mopar but one of my old cars is coming back to me after sitting for 30 years +/-.

Always liked the Nova. Heard it stood for Nova (Chevy), Omega (Olds), Ventura (Pontiac), Apollo (Buick). True?

Nice! I've got a '70 SS that my dad ordered new. It was his "Get outta the Army" gift to himself. It's got the 300 horse 350, M-22 and a 3.73 Posi 12-bolt. He had the cash for the 396 car, but he couldn't afford the insurance on the big-block. He and I rebuilt the engine when I was in high school, put an offset ground 400 crank in it (this was before chinese stroker cranks were available) so its 391 ci now. Close enough to 396 for us!

These cars (68-74) share the front subframe with the 1st-gen Camaro. So anything out there suspension or brakes-wise for the Camaros is a bolt-on.

A little rubbing compound an that baby will buff right up!!
Nice!

I can explain a bit more of the story which helps to understand the condition. In 1989, the car was driven from Utah up to Canada to visit relatives. During their stay they got in an accident and bent the front lower driver side control arm. It drove the tire back into the fender if you can see it in the pics. Obviously the car was not worth much in 89 so they just left it with their cousins and went home considering it a write off. I got it from the cous and installed a different sub frame from another hatchback I had. Then life came along and it went to where you see it being rescued from. So the car was only 16 years old when parked! And it is an American car vs a Canadian rust belt one!

Nice to see you get it back. I had a 74 for a short period of time in high school. Used it as a winter heater. Wild thing about it was I also had a 68 Cutlass S along with the Barracuda convertible at the same time. Only have the Barracuda left now.

I don’t think I have had a Chevy project in this shop but there is now. Looks like it cost about a buck a pound!

How cool is that, getting your old back after that long. I would love to find mine. I used to own a 68 Cutlass 442.

Tinkering. One of one Shelby Nova! I picked up some 1986 Shelby charger seats for $70. They are comfy! And the tracks are awesome for installing.

Lol. That looks nice! Ya that would be a monster in there! I’ve been pondering big block. I have a stout little 350 for now but who knows what the future holds!
Funny thing, I got one of those offset intakes in the trunk when I picked it up!

Well it can be yours for a song, since what I planned to put it in fell through.
