Passing Tech Inspection with your classic car

The weirdest thing I get every couple of years is the “you need to move or armor the brake line that goes across the firewall” I could understand if it was a stick, but an auto?!
Yeah, that don't make sense to me. Seems every track, or every tech inspection guy has a different take. Must be hard to be a gunslinger (travel'n) racer. IHRA/NHRA writes the rules. So much in between garbage.
