Youngin Can't Decide

If you are going the roadkill garage route I agree it can be done for less.

Oh I don't doubt they would be fine, but if I'm doing the front I may as well do the back. Only want to have to run lines 1 time, and I'm kind of an ocd about certain things, add in the adderrall for my ADHD and well it all goes down hill

Also I can't be #s chasing as I don't even know where the #s are, how to read them or what they mean... oops Did I just say that out loud?

Getting the back set up right may be a task... I don't know, I have done them on dirt cars, but you want the @ss of them to swing around. There are kits to do disk on back, cheap... But setting the proportioning valve would be a pain.... Pm me if you want details

Idk roadkill garage... But the magnum is light years ahead of the LA... Let's take my 360... I got a long block and a short block for $200. So let's say what? $125 for long block.... Needs rings, there's $25... Needs honed, $50. New bearings, $75-$100? Now you have a block that is who knows what, which I can't say anything... Now you have cam bearings that are fecked. There's another $50... Tool to Install, another $125... Makes a $3-$500 mag look good. As will have crosshatch in cylinders, and probably all good bearings.

Congratulations on your purchase, always liked the 69s, best friend had a 69 GTS when we were about 17, we had so many good times in that car! Good score on the extra parts, always a plus to have. Enjoy it, and hopefully your kids will follow along into the hobby.

Smells like gas but still souch room for activities, and yes we have so much kid stuff it's not even funny. Literally clothes for both boys and girls from newborn to almost 8 years old

Explain why the Magnum is "light years" ahead of the LA.

Nice choice! Plenty of potential there. Just a couple of things. Disc brakes on the rear are doable (I have the Master Power kit) but they are not necessary for anything but competition style driving. I got a great deal on the kit from someone here on FABO that sold their project so I went with them. Here's what came in the kit, everything but a few brake lines and fluid.

Also, the wheels that the previous owner had powder coated are not the original wheels that came on the car. They weren't available until the next year and some of the purists here frown on putting rallye wheels on earlier A bodies. Personally I don't care because mine came with them when I got it too!

My HOA frowns on street parking also, but I've never been fined. I have received a couple of letters from them over the years reminding me of the rules! lol

BrianT, Great looking Dart then, Awesome looking Dart now. And vary true about the discs on back, you don't need them. I have a 1970 340 Dart with the original discs and drums. I used EBC yellow pads and semi metallic shoes on the back, can't remember the brand, a 15/16 master cylinder, all new stainless lines and braided flex lines and used Dot 5 fluid, My Dart stops great to say the least. They make pads and shoes that are light years beyond what we got back "In the Day". Have a blast with your'e car and don't skimp on the brakes even if it's a low powered cruiser.

Update Time!!!

The 67 hasn't sold yet, the guy who went to look at it has to get permission from his wife first. So there still may be a chance for me. It does have these creases below the rear window that he says are normal, and I haven't been able to find any information on it. I will continue searching though. He also said the 67 didn't come with silver window trim around the front windshield. He sent me a video with a quick walk around and with it running, but again it won't let me post videos here in the forum for some reason, I will continue to try. Here is the crease I'm talking about and the trunk.

The Blue convertible is not sold, the guy came down to 13k but I am at 12k. It has been repainted, from red to blue. It also has some rust he says below the passenger side. I haven't seen pictures yet but he said he will send me some.

Looks like some pin striping gone wrong from that pic.

So I can't get enough of this car and the kids absolutely love it! We have a community pool, to get to it we have to go into the neighborhood across the street, so we took the Dart! Even little drives like that are so much fun.

I'm working on cleaning up the interior today, it's dirty from being in a garage in the middle of a desert in Arizona.

I am going to start a build/update thread in a different section because I don't think I should clutter up the new members forum. I'll update everything over there for now on if you amazing gentlemen want to stay updated and help answer all my questions, the million that I have.

I am also going to take everyone's advice and start with doing front discs and rear drums for now. I am pretty sure to do the front discs all I need are new rotors, pads, brake booster, Proportioning/Meter Valve and lines? Maybe someone can confirm here's my spare front end- looks like it has the spindles, UCA's, and all the track bars/control arms? PO also said this has new bushings and ball joints installed, I may just get those too, but this route may be slightly cheaper? I'll probably call Dr Diff on Monday. Here's the pic- Next weekend I am going to try and install the new top.
