Front Exit Shifter Cable

hey everybody. I just got ahold of a 727 trans for my ‘69 Dart swinger. Purchased a precision performance shifter for it. After speaking with PPP about the install, they told me that a front exit shifter cable is going to be the build and I could use some help here. I am not sure how to run this cable since it is front exit. Should I be drilling a hole for the cable and bending it around to fit? Also do I need a front side bracket if it’s a forward valve body? I got a push to upshift which is what I was told would get me the PRN321 style, 3 being my drive. Anyone done an install like this? Please help!!!!
If I had to do over I would definitely get a rear exit one. The biggest problem I've had with front exit shifters is the cable gets mighty close to hot headers. I've actually melted though one. Was racing and used an aluminum soda can and a couple of zip ties to get it working for the rest of the day.
