For a '72 Duster .. car is done, but 360 they put in was bad, needs to be rebuilt. I am done pulling engines, so I need to have it done when I find a Mopar engine guy.

The car is nice inside and out and everything underneath. Body was solid to begin with and paint is well done. Trans rebuilt, all lines replaced, 4 wheel disc, 8 3/4 rear. Wiring also redone, as well as exhaust. Just looking for opinions, as I'm real close to pulling trigger and getting this car.

If ALL it needs is a motor, that's not much if a mild 360 would make you happy. Looks very nice, and if it was done right, there is a nice chunk of change sitting there. 70s - 72s are selling high in nice condition. I won't say a "dollar" amount, but if you like it and you think it's a fair price, buy it.

Not enough details to give an accurate estimate. Assuming the car is as good as you represent...maybe $12-15k if everything other than the engine is right. More likely that it is in the $8-10k range.

Good body, good paint, good interior, not hacked over, all the right mechanicals in place just needs an engine.

Sounds like a go from my point of view, hope you can come to terms with a price that works for you with the seller.

Part of the fun, doing the engine . . .

Just needs engine. The guy who rebuilt it screwed up and used the wrong pistons. It's going to have to come out and apart. Don't know what other details I can give.

Ummm...the rest of the car beyond the engine?

What was the car originally? What trim options? What is the current condition of the body (inside and out)? What is the interior condition? What are the tires and wheels like?

You should know and understand these kinds of details if you expect to place a value on the car...or ask others to.

Keep in mind that non running project cars tend to sell cheap. Generally not much of a market. Start cheap

Yes, figure what it will cost to in/out and build the engine, especially if you are hiring others to do the work. Then deduct that from what you think the street value of the car is completed.

It was a 318/ auto.. I said the car is in great shape inside and out ..black bucket seat interior ...thought my description on important parts was pretty clear to get a ballpark idea .. guess not.

most important factor to me-

how much body work and of what quality?

They have pictures before it was painted, they're were two small spots behind the wheel well that were patched correctly, and can't notice them now. Floors, rails, trunk look very good. It is solid, and no signs of some fool screwing it up.
