Looking for a scrap block that can be completely unusable. Need a piece to repair another block I have. Would be willing to just take the corner of the block I need if possible. Attached is a pic of what I need. Located in crystal lake, Illinois. Thanks.

I have a 360 block going to the scrap yard in a couple weeks. It should be a mid eighties 360 that got water inside and rusted, but I would have to check the date if it matters because it may have been replaced before.
I could cut that section so it fits in a small shipping box. It will be a couple days before I get to the location where it is, to send you a picture.
I'll check back when I get the picture to see if you already found one closer.

I assume that photo is an example of a good block. Can you post a picture of the broken one so I can see exactly how much is needed?

I added a photo of the damaged block. I have a good welder that can repair it if I can get the piece I need. Thanks so much for the help.

I had an X-block that one of the famous engine builders on this site broke both sides similar to that. He said he didn't know the pins in the rear of the block were stepped and he went to hammer them front to put it on a Dyno. I could see breaking one side. But then to go over and break the other side without looking, He said small block chevy's hammer through. He showed me the block after I paid him for the dyno & build.

My cousin fix it using Shartanium Rods. He had to run a bead it was terrible, Then the second pass it got perfect. Then after all of that the motor flew apart on Start up and Ryan had to pay for his sneaky dirty deed.. Beware I heard he just destroyed another one.

We had the block bolted to a bell housing when he welded it and the parts were vee'd pretty deep

I have a bunch of blocks if you don't find one local. Shipping and time? My son has equipment to cut them off clean. He won't cut them off for free. Its race season and the points guys work is backed up. But I am sure I could get him to go out back and cut them off with a Port-a-band. let me know what your offer is if you don't find any and I will throw it at him. But you should be able to find them where you are.
