Besides the Ford Contour option, does any vendor sell a turn key electric fan option for a stock type 22" radiator (KKS 3-row aluminum)? Running a 408 550hp in a 72 Swinger. All the options I have found on here seem to all be custom one offs. I need a new shroud and I figured a new electric fan set up costs about as much as a damn shroud.

Turn key I doubt it.Check with a company called Wizard Cooling. They sell and make shrouds/electric fans and custom radiators. A local hot rod shop had a rad built with 6 electric fans. Just a thought

I think the Contour fans fit a 26". With the 22" you're limited to about a 16" single and maybe two 12" fans, I wouldn't bother with a pair any smaller. The biggest issue I ran into is an electric fan thin enough to clear the water pump snout and pull a decent CFM. I think most here run a mechanical fan with the clutch or flex fan with a solid spacer. Electric fans start the slippery slope of upgrading the alternator and wiring, then you need to control it so you need a controller. It starts to add up so it depends on what your willing to buy, modify, and needs for the intended use and build of your car.

I have a 2007 Chevy HHR fan on my 408. It fits a 22" radiator perfectly, complete with shroud, for just over $50....can't beat it.
Do these dims look about correct?

I'd like to go electric too, but so far have not found much of anything that fits my setup.

I've got a couple OLD pics from my install back in 2013 here: This particular pic shows the trimming on the center I had to do to clear the water pump...it just took a couple minutes with a dremel tool and a cutoff wheel. I also cut the 4 tabs off the edges (although not needed, it does clean up the look).

I did 4 x 7"fans on my 67, each rated at 1500cfm and quite and slimmer then the ones that were on the rad when I got the car, from a company in California CFR performance. You can wire them for key on, plus they have the connectors that you can wire and clip it together.

I forgot to mention, by trimming the plastic off the center of the fan (removing plastic from the back of the fan motor) you gain enough clearance to make this fit most A-bodies. I forget the exact measurement, but it is somewhere around 3.5" thick after trimming, which clears the water pump (at least on my Barracuda).

My car runs cool in town and at the track. I'm happy with it.....even though I have Chevy parts on my Mopar.

can you go bigger on the Radiator size or do you want to keep the stock 22 inch radiator for looks? I ask because I installed a summit 2 core 27.5x19 aluminum radiator in my big block 73 dart swinger and the rad fit great. I did have to have some mounts welded to the sides of the rad though.

on my 96 Dakota race truck I am building with a warmed over 360 magnum. I ended up getting a fan set up from a 06 5.7 hemi dodge charger to fit. But I did have to trim it some to get it to clear my electric water pump. the fan is only 3.1 inches thick. I found out the is not a whole lot room up front on a Dakota.lol

I am interested in doing this same electric fan setup on my Duster. IS the fan a 2 Speed fan? What controller did you use with it? Thanks

I did a 28x19 two row w/ 1 1/4" tubes. Had to cut the orig. flange off and weld 4 pieces of angle on the sides to get it to set flat , and build a custom shroudView attachment 1715402245 . I didn't cut the cradle opening any bigger to expose the tanks to air flow, the orig form S opening fit perfect for the core. Have my cooling problem licked , but always wondered if exposing the tanks would help much , ANYONE KNOW ??

I used the HHR fan as well, but didn't want to cut the shroud. You can't uncut it, and I was able to make adapter blocks to use the factory shroud mounts.

They're 3d printed in PLA for now, just prototypes, not sure if I'll print them in ABS or make them from aluminum for the final version.

I did have to shim the fan motor fwd to clear the water pump. I'm thinking about either a magnum serp belt conversion (need a bigger ALT anyways for the EFI, fuel pump and fan) or modifying the existing pump housing and shaft to shorten it, similar to a magnum pump.

Not sure what your core height x width size is but you might find something by Derale. Single or dual with shroud. I just bought an 18x18 for my custom setup. Only have to drill a couple holes on the radiators mounting brackets to attach the fan assembly and that's it. Good quality and thick aluminum shroud.
