I have an oil leak that is around the front corner of the engine by the valve cover, intake and temp pressure sending unit. The wiring to the temp pressure sending unit actually gets wet. Is there any chance the temp pressure sending unit can leak oil? Or has someone seen that before? i wouldn't think there is oil near the temp sensor.
Or am I likely seeing oil from the valve covers going onto the wire and temp sensor?

How is the cooling system ? Oil is lighter than water. Any oil in the cooling system will be up top. A friend of mine had a trans cooler go bad, putting at in the cooling system. He thought the power steering was leaking, and throwing up onto the upper radiator hose

More than likely that’s just a valve cover gasket leak. Maybe an intake manifold gasket leak depending on where it’s at.

If there’s so much oil in the coolant that the temp sender is leaking oil, you have a serious problem.

Cooling system fine . no oil in it, thanks.

Probably valve cover, but take a look at the “ hood” of your dipstick tube. Factory ones have a tiny cork gasket up inside that gets degraded over time. Can spray oil about anywhere.

Whoa, um yea.:D
OP, keep in mind that the cooling fan blows oil backwards toward the firewall.
I'm betting on the front of the intake or valve cover also.
Oil stick is a possibility as well if you have some blow by that a PCV isn't keeping up with.

Ok, I didn’t know about the dipstick seal. That may be one of the problems too. Even the shaft seems a little loose in its spot there.
Thanks for the replies.
