Offenhauser dual plane small block intake (clean)

This is a 360 degree intake manifold Period. Offenhauser never called them anything else. There are three variants. The one in this ad with the single plane floor. A similar one with a dual plane floor and the same body. The third was the 360 degree Dual Port. That last one was good for truck engines or mild street cars that needed bottom end torque not past about 5000 RPM.

The other two, the one in this ad and the one with the dual plane floor were meant as all out performance intakes geared for hood clearance. This intake in this ad is perhaps the best one. Look how short the runner dividers are. This makes the plenum BIG. That increases bottom end torque. This intake was advertised to have a power range of 1800-8800. With everything matched up, they won't quit pulling. Again, Offenhauser never called any of the three variants single plane. They called them simply 360 degree intakes because they were supposed to have the attributes of both. A true single plane intake has runner dividers from the start of the plenum all the way to the cylinder head ports. None of these ever did. They were in a class all by themselves as for design.

My apologies for the continued commentary, but it appears no one really knew what this was. It's a damn good intake at a damn good price. If I was even thinking about a small block build I would find a way to buy it. Somehow. lol
