Hey Guys, i'm trying to find out where to get a decent set of adjusters to replace mine. I'm upgrading my rockers and they came with cup style adjusters. I measured everything and it looks like I may be able to use my current pushrods, but I need to swap out the adjusters to ball-type.

Running Comp 1.5 roller tips. I believe the adjusters to be 7/16-20. Thanks for the help guys.

Are you sure you want to switch ball adjusters just to avoid buying new pushrods? If I understand correctly.
I thought I understood those cup adjusters with ball-ball pushrods to have a little better geometry, in general, than the ball adjusters, since the ball extends down lower?

Not really trying to avoid it, just figured since with the new rockers the measurement came so close to my old gear that I could try and get new adjusters to save some coin. my pushrods are currently 9.05 the new measurement came to 8.95. Figured I could make that up with adjuster??

Thanks RRR for the link.

That may work if they weren’t to short to start wilt. Kim

Yea I ended up sending my current new pushrods out to get modified to ball/ball. So they should end up being right where I need them. Turns out this is waaay cheaper than those new Manton adjusters by a wide margin.

Whom did u get to modify them? Thanks. Kim

Smith brothers. I’ve been super pleased with these guys. I know it’s only pushrods but they have always been extremely helpful and nice. Don’t find too much of that these days.

You do realize the Comp adjuster oils thru the adjuster right?

I don’t think I’ve seen any ball type adjusters with the oiling hole that intersects the feed hole in the body.

Yea I realize that. If you ever need them, Manton has some. Although they’re high as giraffe puzz.

Also why I opted to modify the pushrods.

Yeah, you can kinda tell that by the layout of the site. It's a nice site, too. Giraffe puzz? Do I even wanna know what that is?

lol you already know what it is. Ever seen how tall a giraffe is?

Yeah I always say I hope it snows butthole deep to a giraffe every winter. It never does.

I'm gonna revive this because as always my sh*t turns into a fiasco as RRR has already once told me. I got my PR's back and they came up just short. Ordered 8.955 and got 8.903. Being that they oil through the adjuster with the oil band are these new rods too short? I have 3-3.5 threads showing and the oil band is still up in the rocker. Before you ask, Comp tech was no help.

Should I run these or do I need to look at getting this corrected?

early adjusters were ok with 3 turns as the length of the ball stud below the adjuster threads was short
newer adjusters are longer so 3 1/2 is iffy
now if you are running a hyd cam and single springs you are most likely ok
big cam and springs no
perfect world is cup on the adjuster and ball and ball pushrods with oil through the pushrods
I even like oil through the pushrods with cup end pushrods and ball adjusters- they just oil the pushrod tips/ balls better
not talking about the rocker shafts here
