I'm going to be putting new Leaf Springs & new rear mounts on my 72 Dart, I was wondering once you unbolt the rear mounts, do they bolt back up easy or do you got to hold the back side some how?

What do you mean by "new rear mounts"? Are you talking new weld on to the axle tube spring pads? This is not for the true layman. Not only do you have to figure width placement. But you have to consider pinion angle and both pads need to be on plane with each other. Then take in to account your either over zealous welding where you build up so much heat that you warp your tubes. Or your lack of proper welding penetration where the axle rips from the pad and twists in the u-bolts. But it can be and is done by home diyer's all the time.

As Clint says. A man has to know his limitations.

If you read it I said new rear mounts, How hard is that to understand? 1963-1976 All Makes All Models Parts | MN3150 | 1963-76 Mopar A-Body Rear Shackle Hangers - Powder Coated Black | Classic Industries

On the rear leaf spring mounts I'm just wondering can you stick the bolt in & it tighten up or do you got to some how get in behind it & hold the nut, but I don't see how you get something in their to hold it, I can't even feel if it has a nut. So can someone that's put some on let me know?

Well. I understand that asking for clarification from you before providing advice seem to be irritating. Let me help you. "Spring perches" or "mounts" might be considered different from say "Spring hangers" or even different than someone calling them frame mounts as opposed to axle mounts. So if I understand your question. Replacing your "Spring Hangers" at the rear of your vehicle and with all other factors remaining the same. You should have no issues. If someone made a previous change like say offset hangers then you might encounter a side load on your spring set requiring you to force them back in to alignment for reattachment. Something you might run into is if you need to replace the rubber within the eyelet. But since you didn't ask that question. I will avoid any hostilities and bow out here. Good luck.

Oh, don't forget. Safety first. Support the weight of the vehicle and not at the axle point.

I just put new leaf springs on my 72 Dart about a month ago. If you get the rear mounting bolts out without breaking one or two you're ahead of me. I bought new shackles too. I ended up using a bolt from the back side on the ones I broke off. I couldn't get the broken bolt out so I just drilled two new holes symmetrically to the existing ones on the mount and used the empty holes on the body-frame mount area. There's not much room to get new bolts or nuts in there but if you hold your mouth just right it will work.

Well I got the back down, just got to take off the rear hanger, but don't seem like theirs room to get the front eye bolt out, So Do I got to take off the front hanger to get it out?

I did not brake none so far, but I used lots of wd40 & went a little slow on taking what I have took loose so far!

Very nice. You ask for help with a question that is not clear (I wasn't quite sure what you meant either), and then you rudely bad mouth someone who questions what you meant. That is NOT how we do things on this forum. When someone says they are not sure what you mean, try being nice.

You may have already figured it out, but yes it is easiest to take the spring off with the mounts attached to the spring. So take off the front hanger nuts as well.

By the way, most new replacement springs need a 5/8" bolt compared to a 1/2" from the factory. I was able get a grade 8 bolt and stop nuts at a local auto parts store and had to buy a 9/16" drill bit at a the hardware store.
