I'm thinking of making (or buying) a small cupholder, to put between two bucket seats in my 68 Dart. Do you guys have any pictures of small cup holders you made, or bought for your old mopars? Is there a universal one that exists out there that fits in these A-bodies? Otherwise, show me your one-off stuff.

Thanks.

i got a basic plastic one, that should wedge in between the seats, and bolted it to the problematic shifter

Made this one , just needed to put lead weight at the bottom so it won't tip over when you corner. Good for a large Timmies...lol

Go recon the local u-pull.

or...I made one from 3 1/2 inch PVC couplings and some rack mount equipment ears.

I even cut slots in them with a dremel to clear coffee cup handles.

Downside is PVC doesn't hold paint very well (but cleans easily) so you're basically stuck with either white or gray.

I WENT TO A MARINE SUPPLY STORE AND BOUGHT A STAINLESS STEEL CUP HOLDER AND PUT IT IN PLACE OF THE ASH TRAY IN MY 68 FASTBACK. LOOKED FINE. BUT HAD TO REMOVE IT TO MOVE MY SHIFTER BACK 5 ". WAS FAIRLY CHEAP TO BUY. disregard caps !

Thanks for the ideas, guys. Part of the problem is the fact that the driveshaft tunnel isn't perfectly centered. I'll probably just end up making something. Although, I may call about that corvair console and see if they can provide me some measurements.

Years ago I went into the local parts store (Auto Zone?) And looked through the aisle where floor mats and other interior stuff was and bought a plastic mini console. It holds 2 cups and there is also a small open bin maybe 5" x 6" that's good for holding a cell phone or GPS. It fits between the bucket seats and sits on the floor hump. (No console) it was only $5.

I have thought of doing the same thing. Do you have any pictures of how you did it? I was wondering if you could retain the ashtray lid so it hides the cupholder when not in use.

Haven't looked yet, but I'd like to find something to use with a bench seat. Back in the day I had one that worked well. Had little plastic points on bottom that grabbed the carpet and a sand bag on either side to weigh it down.

Got this one at Wally World and screwed it down.
It holds multiple cup sizes up to and including 32 oz.

That looks killer! How'd you fasten it down?
I didn't have to. I made it fit tight so it would not move but if I had to I would attach it to the shifter console. For your info the wood is walnut and looks better in person

I took a spare console and removed front plate and got some stainless marine cup holders from Academy Sports and made a platet to hold them. It sits in there without being tied down so it is easy to take out if need to work under dash

Roughly what I did
I remember having to cut the bottom wedge part of, and bolted it to the shifter cover

Nevermind the mess, she's a driver

Ok, I'll throw out a couple pictures of my setup.
I did away with my console top plates and made my own, trying to copy the early top plates (silver with a black stripe down the middle), made the top with holes for stainless cup holders that I got online from Gander Mountain, (boat cup holders), and made it to fit over my Hurst promatic2 shifter.

This looks great! If I can still fit my factory console with the t56 swap I'll be doing this.
