Good Morning
word-image-2.jpg

Good Morning All. Woke to thunderstorms this AM. Then the heat gets turned on. 100+ the next couple days. I got my stainless fuel lines, tank, jbolts, ground strap, clips, grommet, etc all last night. The tank is in etching primer now and will have paint on it tonight. Plan is to install tomorrow and try that first drive Saturday morning. Fingers crossed again...

Best wishes to you Mike. I am sure all will go smoothly and without issue. I will be watching for updates...
Eric big article in Mopar Collector's Guide this month on another Mr. Norm 71GSS.
This guy said there are only seven or eight of them.
Might be able to get his number if you'd ever want to talk to him.

After some wild storms rolled through last night it is ONLY supposed to hit 90F today... But will be right back to upper 90's Fri - Sun with heat index around 110  I will be working all but Sunday so won't get outside to enjoy it much - LOL. I got my bearings in mail yesterday -2 days early. Took them in to work and used the bearing press to do all three spindles in like 10 minutes vs bangin around in the hot garage for probably an hour or more. Will still be plenty of that putting the deck back together. Probably get that done this morning. Then just need the drive belt before the deck goes back under it. That is still supposed to get here tomorrow. No rush - even with rain showers we have gotten the grass is pretty slow growing in this heat.

Thanks Craig. I will see what I can do to read the article and with contacting him. I talked with Jim (??) Rheinhart at MIP, who I got the air cleaner from for my 6 pack set up. He is the one who drove Norm up there and is trying to start a registry. He said I was #14 that he knew of. Not sure if 71 only or also 72. He is supposedly working on a Mr. Norms Museum in Rockford, IL. He bought a old Dodge dealership that will be used.

If you can get his number (just reread what you said) it would be neat to talk to another owner. I am looking for the article to read it now

Randy Holden wrote the article and also wrote mine. A really down to earth guy.
I'm sure if you called their main number and left him a message he or someone will call back.
Tell them why and leave your number and hopefully they'll email the owner and pass it on.

Rad in/out 4 times so far.
Shroud is trimmed/fitted. Modified overflow to accept 1/4” hose so its same size as overflow tank. Now to get fan in and screw on the ring. Will be running it today.
Forgot i have to cut holes in shroud and install flaps. That’s next.

Think i got it.
2 fans, one belt driven, one electric. Moved fan sensor to bottom of rad.
Modified rad and shroud for easier installation.

Strange thing happens when engine is running, belt driven fan causes electric to spin. I think it actually pulls some air too,as its offset to the mechanical one.
With the 192 thermostat it runs about that temp, and its near 80 today.
A dribble more coolant and some wiring to clean up and out it goes.

7-1/4” diff, roughly 58-1/2” drum face to drum face. Any chance someone would know what it might be from?

TMM should be out of (or almost out of) surgery by now. I have been thinking of him all day and hope that all is well.

The plot sickens...
Rad cap doesent hold pressure.
Seems there is a leak down where cap gasket seals. Went to replace the bung, but the only one i have is cracked. So i will solder the sealing ring into the bottom so cap will seal. Was tempted to epoxy it in, will think about it overnight.

You need TP for your bunghole...

With a stroke of luck, my wife who is responsible for ordering and distributing my daughters swim team polo shirts and hoodie sweatshirts found a local business guy who can give me great prices on quality embroidered shirts that he does himself in his shop.

One more thing I can add to my capability for my eventual business.
