Pictures of cars and things of my past of my past

1987 The first Road runner was a 383 4spd . It was parted out for a build. The second blue one was sold . I never saw it after that.

The black road runner was my car that I street raced. Built solid lifter 69 383 motor and trans,410 dana 4 spd. I sold it and the buyer hit a slate wall . He sold it I last saw it in Wind gap Pa. sitting at mall. It was repainted the original color a dark green. I knew it was my car there was a small star ear ring of my wife's was still stuck in the dash. This was the car I was driving when I met my wife. I would like to find it. Leads are appreciated. The car no longer had the white 70 interior The guy I sold it to sold the seats and door panels before he sold the car.

I bought this GTX at a junk yard . It was towed in with a bunch of old Packard's from an Estate. The last tag was 1973. It was in a barn waiting for its owner to come home from Vietnam he never drove the car. The Sister drove it two years until 73. I bought the car in 1984. The junk yard was on route 100 in Bally Pa. Nesters Autoworks. The car was traded to Jim Bogusky. for a 72 340 Duster and a 69 340 swinger that was hit. The motor in the GTX was stuck fast it was fixed. I saw it several times in the survivors tent at Carlisle.

The blue road runner was bought in Danielsville right up the rod from where I live now. The oil pan was hit and had a hole in it. He wrecked the car while at home on leave and never fixed it. under 30k on it 383 4spd. It was used as a parts car to fix the red one which had a blone motor from racing it.

The red car was a race car that was street raced I knew the guy and drove the car at times. It said across the deck lid "Whats Happening is Drag Racing" It was a well known street Racer. The body had some bumps it needed a fender and door. The air grabber hood was hit on the blue car and the inner was twisted. I skinned the hood and put it on the red road runners hood frame. I changed the car to 4 speed. Built the motor and put the 355's from the blue road runner in. I used the complete drive line from the blue one.

This blue car had a large Copper head snake in it up under the dash. We killed it. The next day the shop was full of baby Copper heads

If you look in front of the Road runner on the picture below you can make out a light yellow Charger with a white fender. We painted the engine compartment the original color. It was a non vinyl R/T SE 440 auto power seat, windows and air. Dean B. He still has the car today as you see it in the picture. He came upon some hard times. He was separated. His wife sold the parts for the charger with another car she sold. I was talking to him at Carlilse Friday. I haven't seen him in years. He was looking for a grille. The cheapest nice grille he said was $1600.

I sold the road runner to D&S auto show in Harrisburg Pa. When I went to get the Wheels back they were swapping numbers from a 4 spd car. When I sold the car the data plate said automatic ,non air grabber.

I saw the car at maple grove and took pictures. The one guy that worked there was noted for shady cars with the wrong numbers but they did them that you could not tell . I saw the car at carlisle. They new it was a drag car but they were told it was from out west. I asked his wife to open the trunk and the dent I repaired with bondo was still there. The car is really nice and I would buy it back in a heart beat. I know its a real road runner and a real nice car when we finished it. And it has gone through a major restore since then. 383 4spd post with air grabber. bench seat car. Rally red

The pictures I have of it were before it was cleaned up for resale. I just brought it home from paint. The last two pics were taken at maple grove when I saw it. It was at Carlisle this past Friday. When you take a car apart this far and repair the damage . You know your car.

Thanks for the photos!!! Looks like years and years of Mopar bliss! I'm jealous :)

I'm curious, have cars been your livelihood or a hobby for you?

There is a story behind that car that isn't something I care to talk about right now. My Dads car fell on him and killed him after he was complaining about it being in the way to get his car in the garage." True story ". My dad was the third and there was others after the car was sold. The weird thing was I also had this car at the same time.

Wow, very sorry. Thanks for sharing these pics and stories. Very difficult, I realize.

Sad story about the boys in the blue Demon. :( Looks like he got broadsided by another vehicle when it spun out with him.

I sold the car to a guy for his boy. He had a 65 baracuda getting done at the garage and he saw the Demon and wanted it. Three days after they got it home he let his son drive it the night before he was leaving for the Air Force.

He was racing a 68 440 charger. The trans went into two gears when shifting to drive. Caused by a shift kit improperly installed. The car was going the same direction as the explorer in the picture. The rear of the car came out to the right. It did a complete 360 and it hit the rock as the front was coming back around.

He hit this rock right on the point. Killed instantly and his legs were wrapped up in the floor. They were doing at least 115 that is what the shift point was if you wound second tight and shifted drive 323's that were in it. The passenger was paralyzed. The boys in the Charger did not stay there this all came out at a later date. I towed the car.

I admit I love those 68-70 Runners, and like you have had a bunch. Just hard to pay the price for the absolute terrible projects available today.

Ever have a 70 burnt orange one? They were pretty too.

Love the stories and pictures!
Sad to hear about the people killed especially your father though....
Keep them coming!

I loaded some more last night. I will caption them after they are posted so I can see whats there.

The first two here were of Nazareth speedway enduro race. The white chrysler in the one picture and the red polara with the white and gold stripe were mine.
