Just a quick update. Thanks to all of you for your support prayers and well-wishes. Let me tell you this, they give you some really good stuff when they operate on you but as soon as that wears off then reality sets in. I had a rough morning this morning had a hard time breathing, very shallow and if you cough it just about kills you but then I needed to cough because I had some phlegm in my throat but all is getting better once we got on top of the pain meds. I've been sitting up in a chair for a few hours at a time and I'm breathing through one of these little machines and doing quite well I'm doing a better job of transitioning between the bed and the chair without hurting a lot. I have 3 drain tubes in. They're about the size of a dime or maybe a penny and hopefully those will come out in a day or two two. Problem is they go up in between your rib cage and your lungs so it really hurts on both sides your ribs when you have to cough or even the hiccups LOL. They say I'm really doing very very well for just getting out of surgery yesterday afternoon so if that's good news thanks again for all your support guys it really means a lot.

The Angels are yours as long as you need them. They're a bit rough around the edges, but they have good connections in the Right place. :D
 
Well, I'm last to the party (not like it was) Really glad to hear that the surgery went well and it sounds like your getting around pretty well after a couple days of surgery! We're all on here pulling for you man. I've never met you and may never but it still feels like family on this board. You're one of our brothers and we're your family too. Take care, rest up and you'll be back to hammering us on the board and swinging wrenches in no time. I think we all should have a toast of what our favorite drink is whether you imbibe of alchohol or not. Ladies and gents..

You know they have him on coumadin to thin the blood and probably something to slow the heart rate, so his blood pressure is low, that's why he's so tired, and what he went through ain't no walk in the park
 
Ya lucky dog, I wasn't gonna say nuthin' bout it cause I didn't wanna get Ya all anxious, after a few days, and your doing good, the doc comes in and says this is gonna hurt, he takes the end of the wire and pulls it out of the heart down past the rib cage and out the hole, so ya know how the first one felt and now Ya know what's coming with the second one, holy moly, that hurt like hell.
Anyway get rested and don't worry about what's going on round here.

I got my other two drain tubes out today and feeling pretty good. All day today I have been on Tylenol for pain management and nothing else and doing quite well with that. Probably the biggest accomplishment is I went number two today twice and boy do I feel better LOL.

Actually I'm not on coumadin cuz I had a valve repaired instead of replaced I was pretty lucky that way.

Has the parole board released you on the general public yet? :lol:
 
All test results are good. Going home today. Hard to believe that less than 4 days ago I was opened up and they were working on my heart.
