Turning back the clock

well.....The Flash lives with a dual plug Hemi again. All good with a couple small things to fix / repair / replace. Might need a new water temp gauge, the original with new sensor doesn't register anything and the oil pressure fitting on the block has a small leak......not bad when you consider who (me) assembled it (all but the long block)

The twin MSD 6AL-A2's gave John and I fits for almost a whole day.....but it was a simple lack of mention in the installation instructions that the (ignition) switched 12V circuit needs to provide 12V at all times, including when the starter is en-gauged. Problem is, as I learned, all the circuits in the factory harness shut off when the starter is en-gauged. All the independent component tests gave me spark, just not when I hit the starter. Two calls to MSD tech, a simple test, and I was straightened out.

With spark, it fired right up, We warmed it up and set the timing but could not get it to idle at less than approx 2000 RPM....Steve Atwell built the motor, including running it on the dyno to break in the cam and check the vitals before handing it off to us. He said when it was time to fire it up in the car, he would come down for final dial in. I called him yesterday at 4 and he was at my shop at 10 this morning. After re-checking float levels, etc and a fire up, Steve determined he would have to take the 1050's back to Michigan for idle circuit surgery. He will have them back by this coming weekend.

then ready for the Nats..........RUNNING!
