Exciting times.... Looking for input on your setup. Pictures would be great. Not so much worried about routing preference so as everything is working in regards to fit, and heat issues. Everything I am reading is telling me Firecore is unmatched....

Thanks for any input,
JW

the firecore wires I received were all numbered and the fit was great he also made my coil wire longer at no extra cost and he also sent the stock length coil wire .

I prefer to make my own. With pre made ones you are forced to run the wires the way the maker wants.

What I am looking for is someone who has a set that fit right and if the star align I could probably use them as a reference with Firecore and they could duplicate a set. Otherwise I may go ahead and just make my own. Somewhere in the trenches of my old racing days I have a nice set of MSD crimpers (unless someone permanently borrow them lol....)

i did on my 73 big block dart.

Here's the order list for my wires from Jacobs showing lengths and angles as well as some engine pics showing routing. 1st engine pic is older with factory valve covers and experimenting with a 3 speed wiper motor. Next is current one back to 2 speed wiper motor and AMD valve covers. Last 2 show connections at the plugs (factory valve covers).

ugg.. i don't like that.. exact reason i like making my own.. you wont be married to how someone else ran the wires and measured.

That's about the ONE thing I dislike about big blocks (the distributor in the front)
In my own opinion those wires are too long the way they are.

No offense meant of course.

No offense taken at all. I agree that nothing will equal doing them yourselves for the fit you want. I believe most quality wires are available in the DIY setup. Main goal is clearance from burning on the headers.

True enough.
I have a small block and the only ones I have any issue with is 5&7 due to the header pipe for number 3 running right across the top of those two plugs.
I have the long silicone boots and found about a piece of header wrap folded over and put between the boots and that pipe works to keep them from burning on the pipe.

Thanks for all the reply's guys...... I liked the idea of pre-made wires but since I have the Crimping pliers it only makes sense to just make a set up myself. The placement of the distributor up front certainly makes for wiring routing not always so appealing to the eye however that's what mother mopar gave use to work with so I can't change that lol.... Well, I could but I think my project has dug a deep enough hole in my wallet already.....

Thanks,
JW

Firecore is great, I use them for all of my builds. They have a large selection of ends and they'll custom build wires for you very quickly. I've had them build and ship wires for me the same day.

The ones I had for my 66 Valiant 340 with TTIs fit fine. I ended up using them in my 68 Dart. They still fit well. Can’t argue with making your own though.

i prefer valve covers with no brackets on them. these are painted mp chrome ones. i also bought a set of the same valve covers for my express truck. way too many brackets on that thing being a 79..

this is how i did the dart. the express truck will be a little different..
