Friend of mine picked up a 1972 340 Duster. On the valve cover is this sticker. Anyone ever see this before?
hey where are all the experts?
I know everything....well , I used to know everything. Now that I've forgotten 60 percent of everything I used to know I am down to the average knowledge base like everyone else. I actually had to forget quite a few things to make room for new information. Once the memory banks are full you have to purge!!!Experts only exist inside their own heads.
No one knows everything, we all still have a lot yet to learn.

I have not. Maybe @krazykuda Karl has.
Since 72 was a mixture of points and first year electronic distributors, I was thinking the same thing. And Mark, in the 47 years since this car was built, someone could have put the points distributor in it. Look at the wiring harness, see if you see the two prong distributor plug or the ECU plug pigtail under the hood.I am sure it was for the first runs of Electronis ignition engines ..
but the car has points ,

Sticker says it passed a " Special electronic quality Test" Only other thing you could test is the alternator or coil and points?Sticker seems to refer to a method of testing the engine. It may have nothing to do with the ignition or votlage regulation.
All I'm suggesting is to consider the whole sticker. I read "it" as the engine. Especially with the larger font and all caps.Sticker says it passed a " Special electronic quality Test" Only other thing you could test is the alternator or coil and points?
How did a pretty common sticker become a mystery?
Mystery to who?
It's just conversation, I'm 64 and been devoted to Mopar since I bought my first new 70 340 Duster. I been around and never seen one! RRR has been around and never seen one! Why does this bother you so? Opt out and it won't bother you in the futureHow did a pretty common sticker become a mystery?
