Some people have no clue WTF is going on. There is nothing wrong with mild steel for many applications. Yes, it weighs more, but many drivers I see could lose enough weight to make up the difference. Plus, look over the cars and you'll probably find many places to save weight to make up the difference.

Aren't you the guy who square decks a block using the tops of the pistons? But you think you know WTF is going on. Not having neck restraint did kill Earnhardt. Severed his cervical spine from forward head motion. You might not have that problem. Since you build those muscles using that motion frequently.

I am an Engineer. I never worked on cars at all. Everything I know I read about while I was riding on my train. You all do what ever you want. I myself would never use a mild steel cage in a car again. Like you said your self. $100 more and your buddy upgraded your cage to CM. Did you tell him he has no common sense? I didn't think so . Pay now or pay later its only a matter of time by your own admission. Well I have to get back to my design canvas on my train.
