I have a 1975 Dodge Dart Sport 360 that the electronic ignition switch went bad, shorted out internally, and blew the fusible link and burnt up the ground wire on the steering column. I've replaced the ignition switch and the fusible link. When I turn the key to run the gauges move but when I go to start there is nothing at all. I can turn the key to run and jump the starter relay on the drivers side inner fender well and the car will start and run fine. Does anyone have any idea what might be the fix? Also now when I turn the lights on, only the driver head light comes on. No other lights are illuminating. If I turn the right turn signal on the right front marker light illuminates but didn't flash. When I turn on the left turn signal the light on the dash illuminates but no other lights outside illuminate!! Any ideas?? Thanks in advance!!

NSS (Neutral Safety Switch) for the no start. It's mounted on the transmission which has to be in Neutral or Park to ground the starter relay; sometimes the linkage just needs to be adjusted; try wiggling the shift-lever in Neutral.

As for the lights well, you'll have start at the bulbs, and make sure the chassis is grounded back to the battery. There is a ground on the core-support on the driver's side behind the headlight. Another from the firewall to the back end of the passenger head. And another one at the battery. And of course the one on the column. I think another one behind the driver's kickpanel, and one more in the trunk near the lock.

If the signal/running light bulbs are all the correct type and working, but the rears will not work, that usually points to a bad signal switch. But if they do come on but don't flash, that points to a flasher. There is a separate flasher for the hazard lights.

to test what AJ is sayin bypass the starter relay NSS terminal and see if it starts by the key / if it does then either the NSS wiring is bad , the NSS is bad , shift linkage out of adjustment / see diagram below on the bypass , make absolutely sure that the car is in PARK because it WILL start in gear and run you over

NOTE / email me for the NSS wiring diagram , include ALL info needed for me to know what you want dodgeboysnet@hotmail.com

Also make sure you do not have (what is supposed to be 74 only) the seat belt interlock reset box under the hood. It's a relay box like a horn relay with a reset button. On the 74 Scamp I have it's on the driver's side fender apron.

Without that reset, the functional path is

Key switch..........start wire..........through the bulkhead connector.......to one flag/ "push on" terminal on the relay........through the relay coil.......out the other flag terminal to a separate wire...........down to the transmission NSS switch, the center terminal "to ground" in park or neutral

Try starting the engine while moving the shifter from park to neutral back and forth

Bulkhead connection. Make sure it’s not burned up. Usually are
