A bodys typically do not have problems with hood hinges wearing. E bodies are notorious for it because the hoods were so long. Looks to me like you just need to readjust the hood. The bolts were probably not tight enough and it slipped.

I got the same hood on mine. Doesn't look like there's a whole lot of adjustment.
