I think it’s a good illustration of the importance of the “combination”, and that one or two good parts in the combo won’t always bring up the overall power level of the package.

In this case, I feel like the “big” heads(relative to the rest of it) combined with the low compression ended up with a lower mean velocity average than if smaller heads has been used, which cost some power at the lower end of the powerband....... and it can’t really overcome it in the upper rpms with the small intake manifold.

A point and a half of compression, some quench, and an RPM and I suspect the numbers would look a lot better.
