They closed the local strip about 15 years ago, it was nice and convenient, 3 miles from the house I grew up in, and I knew the back road to get there to keep cars with slicks off the highway.
Nothing like 16 years old, heading to the strip with slicks on the rear, to give it hell.
Dad was always on stand by at the house if i needed towed home using a chain.

I have one dragstrip about 15 miles from me but they don't run a full schedule they are only open like one weekend a month and when they are open its packed! Like on test and tune night your lucky to get in 3 passes tops 2 is more realistic. We have another one about an hour and half away its open every weekend but I have to cross a steep mountain to get there and I dont have anything big enough to pull a trailer over that mountain lol those are both 1/8th mile tracks Bristol speedway Is about 2 hours from me but they are only open to the public like twice a month but it is a quarter mile strip iv never been but I really want to after the dart is driving! I really want to get a car trailer and start going when my car is done. I havent raced in years I miss it!
