I bought my first car when I was 15, a 1972 Duster. When it came time to take my Driver's License test, my dad offered up his car thinking it would be easier. He had a 1978 Plymouth Sapporo!! It was still very rare and the cop was looking at all stuff inside the car so much that he barely paid attention to my driving! Picture below is like the model he had.

Dad loved Mopars, but he liked having the new models. I also remember an 86? New Yorker with Voice Alert that said "a door is a jar"!

1981, in a 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham. My mothers car.

Year later, oops

Needed a part (think it was a balancer) borrowed my mothers car to get to go to school. 1:00 pm must have been a little to comfortable dozed off and flew off the freeway, hit the curb, airborne, nosed in about 15' down.

My ride at the time, 235 3-speed manual

A friend's 64 Belvedere /6 3 on the tree 4dr. Found the car 30 years later in a wrecking yard and bought it for 250.00

65 Ford Falcon Futura 2 door sedan. 170 straight six and Cruise o Matic 3 speed. Was Daddy's car. I loved that little car.

1976 Dodge Aspen 318, blue on blue. I probably shouldn’t have put the aluminum slots and bigger tires on it before the test.

I failed the first time...I always blamed the wheels.

But then again, it might be because I spun the rear tires off the last stop sign test.

1969 Pontiac Executive 2 door 42 ft long. Man that thing would fly. 400 engine.

Which time?
1st time it was a 74 Mustang II.
I got a damn parking ticket while I was in finishing the paper work. I parked the car where the evaluator told me to. $12.00, I was pissed.

The 2nd time, I accidentally let my license expire, for a year.
Opps!
I took that test in a new 2012 Charger.
I did the maneuverability portion thinking the evaluator wanted me to park.
Was surprised when she said, "you're good."

My first car I bought from my parents. 66 Plymouth Valiant 100 /6 3 on the tree.

Drivers license test was in this car. Dad still daily drives it.

1985. I think it was in my Dads company car, a 76 Celica GT 5sp. like this....

or, it would have been in this barge, Mom's 76 Lincoln Town car! I'm thinking the Celica but I drove both. That is weird that I cannot remember something like that as it was yesterday....but I do remember passing first time. Try parallel parking that yacht!

On or about my 16th birthday (September 1971) I drive my parent's Bahama Yellow 1971 Road Runner 383 automatic during my driving test. The first foto below shows what the car looked like when new (not my parent's vehicle, but it looks exactly the same except for the exhaust tips).

The second foto is the actual Road Runner I drove that day. I recently found the current owner when I joined a Facebook Road Runner group and described my parent's vehicle, which the owner recognized as the car he purchased to restore. I verified it by way of it still wearing the original California license plate.

Took mine in my parents new 1987 ford escort, but I daily drove a 68 vw bug. Both my sons took their driver test in their '68 fury 4dr v8 car. The DMV lady loved the car as it reminded her of the one she drove in high school. Lol. They both passed first time through.
