I am thinking about putting a front suspension under my barracuda.
Tubular K member ,control arms ,rack and pinion steering .
Who has used what, what was the quality and what do you think of the final result?

Only way to go rack and pinion is a full coil over conversion. RMS, HemiDenny, Gerst, etc. Otherwise the steering angles get hammered and you end up with a lousy Ackerman.

What is the intended use of the car? And why do you want the rack?

Looking into options.
Not set on rack.
Better ride,handling ,room for engine/headers.
Upgrading brakes,bolt pattern.

I did all the things you mention with the K frame and torsion bars.
Converted to Wilwood disk brakes, upgraded all suspension, front and rear, Borgeson power steering box, 340 engine, auto to A-833 plus Gear Vendors Overdrive and 8.75 diff with 3:55 limited slip.
The suspension and disc brake upgrade was relatively easy. Getting my Doug's Header pipe to fit between the torsion bar and mini starter has been a bear.

unless you can define all these with some very specific info, your going to spend a lot of money and still, may not be happy

depending on how he defines his goals, it might be a lot less

The HemiDenny kit or AlterKation be your best bet. Gerst doesn’t have an early A kit on the website.

Sure they do!

You got a build thread? If not, you should.
Probably won’t do a build thread on this site... it’s another one of my cross breeding projects and half the posts will be guys crying about the 500 Cadillac turbo 400 combo that is going in it.

LOL I understand! Feel free to pm me pics of the build. I dig the idea!

My advice to you is this......do a LOT of research. Chances are, "whatever" you want to do with your car "has been done" with the stock Mopar front suspension before. It is extremely versatile. I like to use the 1960 NASCAR Compact Car race as an example. Valiants took the FIRST SEVEN places, with 170 slant sixes and stock suspensions.

That said, there are a LOT of nice systems out there. @HemiDenny is a super cool dude and a member here. His stuff is very high quality. I am sure he would be more than glad to discuss with you what your needs are.
