Need some help . Just bought a bunch of LED 1157 brake light bulbs and put them in and they do not work , just wondering if anyone else has tried this and what bulb are you using . Thanks in advance for any help .

They are current sensitive and may require special hazard and Turn signal flashers. Do the stop and and tail work at least?

They work with a regular 1157 bulb but not with the LED bulb. I will see if I can find a turn signal flasher for LED .

Question was if the LED stop and park worked. If so get the correct flashers.

Define "doesn't work." Does ANYTHING work? Tail lights? Parking lights? Brake lights? No reason brake lights should not work, regardless of the flasher.

You should be able to "jig" the lamps up on a battery / clip lead and see if they actually work

Parking lights work no turn signal and no brake , bulbs work on battery. One side on the bottom of the bulb is brighter than the other post .

LED Bulb .

Usually the tail and brake work fine.

Just turn or hazard are normally an issue. Weird the brake lights in led do not work but do with 1157.

Normally there is not enough resistance for the turn and hazard, without the low current flashers.

I actually tried some in 67 cuda and they worked but poorly(not bright). Princess Auto actually let me try in parking lot before buying. Didnt buy them, they looked same as yours and about $10 each.

I never tried on the fish and the only LED in my Fastback are the opera lights on the C pillar. The original 110 bulbs get so hot and burn up the socket!

Yea just watch a video on u tube guys say there is a circuit board in the bulb which makes the bulb brighter on one post and a little dimmer on the other one , he said if the bulb was split up half the lights for brake and a few for turn signal. They would work , but because it runs off a circuit board they won't work . Going to try a electronic flasher to see if it will work. What do I know !!!

Then I don't know. I DO know there's old threads on here where members recommended certain brands/ part no's of LED lamps

I took Slant Six Dan's advice and used Philips 12899RX2 bulbs. They worked with the stock flasher unit. The tail lights are as bright as 1157 brakes lights and the LED brake lights are twice as bright. Must have a couple of years on them and no problems.

Cuda 69 I’ve just ordered the philips rear ones you stated Any chance anyone one would know of an LED for the front Parker indicator for a 67 Dodge Dart as it’s an bayenet type twin filament but the side contact points are at the same height not off set. They can be white light as my lenses have been painted orange .@slantsixdan

Thanks for posting the numbers! And your review. Pricey tho, at $65 a pair. BUT if you dont need to buy modern flashers, there is $$ saved there.

To do an alert, be sure there is a space before and after. @slantsixdan

Exterior lights are crucial safety equipment that keep you (and your car) from getting hit. They have to work right, not just light up and "yup, looks good to me". Read this before deciding there are "no issues" with the fraudulent trinkets offered by SuperBrightLeds and a zillion other vendors all over the internet. There is no legitimate LED 1157 that will work effectively, safely, and legally in the '67 Dart front turn signal, because it's got Fresnel-type optics (see link at the top of this paragraph for explanation).

$65 is too much to pay for the Philips brake bulbs; see here.

The flasher to use is this one (2-prong like original; connect its ground wire conveniently).

Very informative . Thank you for reposting for me Dan .

So all the LEDs sold by Superbright leds are "fraudulent trinkets" , just because they don't make one that'll work on a '67 Dart front turn signal? Based on 67gt's description, a #1157 won't fit it anyways.

No. Most of the "LED bulbs" on the market, including all of them offered for vehicle exterior lights by SuperBrightLeds, are fraudulent trinkets.

AND, separately, there is no legitimate LED bulb that will work effectively and safely in the front turn signal of a '67 Dart. It's not impossible for such a bulb to exist, there just isn't one on the market. If Philips had ever made an amber version of the one linked for brake lights, it would work perfectly in applications like this. But they never did, and sadly never will (they're discontinuing that design in favour of two lower-performance designs that are cheaper for them to make, and aren't compatible with fresnel optics).

AND, also separately, there's something the matter with the sockets in 67gt's car—perhaps a previous owner did a hackaѕѕed "repair" with incorrect sockets, or perhaps the original sockets are faulty; repair info is here.

How do you know this? Have you tested every LED design in every car? There are thousands of possibilities.

I'm running Sylvania Zevo which are plenty bright.
And this flasher.
2-Prong Electronic LED Turn Signal Flasher Relay EF32RLNP BIPOLAR
Bought 6 so far.
It just needs the extra ground.

What everyone should consider is that if you go LED flashers, I don't think your system will give you an indication of bulbs not working.
So do a frequent safety check.
