Have a 67 fb barracuda, that’s in need of a new heater box. Which years ,if any of other A bodies mopars are compatible? Have a friend with lots of Duster and Dart parts, wounding if this is a option.

Can't say for sure but a Tx old car boneyard guy (extremely knowledgable) told me the 67 box works in the dusters. I had bought one for a 71 duster but it sold before I tried the box at all, so in other words I don't know!!

All you need to do is start a wanted thread and get what you need, what works.

67-72 non ac boxes are interchangeable. 67-72 ac boxes are interchangeable. There are some minor differences in how the controls mount on the dash, but that can be improvised. In 1973 the systems changed a lot. That is when they went to the levers instead of buttons for the ac.

I put 71 dart ac box in my 69 cuda. It was originally a non ac car. It was a lot of work to swap from non ac to ac but worked out fine.

Ok thanks, this make the drive worth while to check out my friend parts.

You will definitely need the 67 controller for a 67 inst panel. 68 and up controller won't even bolt up to 67. Length and angles of the 2 levers are different. The length of the slots in the bezels are also different.

Also, check out Detroit Muscle they make a lot of good heater & ac rebuild stuff. They also have high quality dash wood grain and other inserts. You may be able to rebuild your box. I would rebuild any used box I put in anyway. I think I have seen a rebuilt one for sale on this site.

On the ac rally dashes, I have a 67 rally dash in my 69 cuda with a 71 dart ac, so it is really a Frankenstein. I had to fabricate a pretty simple angle bracket to get the ac vacuum switch to mount. I have no actual experience with swapping controls on a non ac dash, but the ac control swap was pretty easy.
