dodge demon blows trans during burnout at dragstrip fire and attitudes get in the way

-
Nobody seems concerned that the gas tank could catch on fire. -- Oh well !!

Wow.
Car owner must have more money than brains.
Track workers are worthless and should be fired.

Im sure there is more to this than meets the eye.
Safety guy says shut car off, you shut it off. Then attitude? Let it burn some, keep that driver off the track for a while.
A burning car is nothing to screw with. No protective gear whatsoever.

and now he know's why NHRA has a lot of rules and training.
not say stock is safe, but i wonder how stock that car was

According to one comment "it would not turn off". Who knows what the story is. Ever opened a hood of an engine fire? I'm not too anxious.............

yes they do not have any keys...just fob that has to be in the car..... just have "push button" start/stop and it would not shut off.... he was pushing it...told the guy it wont shut off....trans blew up and would not go into park so car would not shut off.......guy kept saying shut the car off......does not mean he was right copping a attitude with the track guy though....supposedly if you hold the button in for 5 seconds it shuts the whole car down...safety feature from the factory.....but the guy probably didn't know that

I drove past a 71 Scamp once that was ablaze on RT 100 in Pa. I remember thinking it was "gonna blow" that was in the early 90's....

damn fiat ruined the day for all the other racers. god knows how long that will take to clean up.. :)

looks like piss poor attitudes all the way around there...

Yes Lawyers and get ready for the track to close once they get involved.

Even after a fire- I'd still not throw her out of bed LOL! She's "Hot!"
Demon and Fire- sounds very biblical to me. Like chocolate and peanut butter.

Mighty sick watching that unfold........begs the question, why wasn't the car equipped with a battery disconnect switch?? They are required on lot's of other drag cars why not these??????

Track worker was a hot head. Car owner was uninformed at to how you can shut the car down. 2 wrongs don't make a right.....

However, safety first and the track worker should have taken the high road and done his job. As for who is liable, dunno.... It's at a track which probably required a wavier to be signed and with that being said any racer is putting the John Hancock on it with the assumption that there are certain safety nets in place. This will be a dicey one and a few lawyers are about to make some money....

The car should have shut off even if in drive.
It will automatically go to park.
You can also force a shutdown.
Could be the fire torched some cruial wires ?

too many stupid people doing nothing to stop the fire open the hood and put out the fire and save the car he must be a cheevvy owner!!!!

Honestly you would think anyone buying a car like that and race it would read the owner’s manual and be well versed in how to operate the car. The guy is a jerk off.

As for the track dork, I would have taken the fire extinguisher from him, not like any of them know how to put out a fire anyway. Total lack of training.
