Right Speakers?

These were the ones I was looking at.
My radio does say solid state, I just never heard of having new speakers being an issue before!
Thank you!

Hello SwingingDart,

I am currently gathering parts for a complete ground up rebuild of a '69 Barracuda 340 Fastback. Here's what I've got going on in the stereo department:

I'll be using twin Pioneer 3.5" 2-way speakers (60 watts with bass blockers) in a custom dash mount that MoparMat2000 made. The outside is the exact same size as the factory speaker so it fits right in and has the 2 holes cut for the speakers (Pioneer TS-A878).

From Year One, I ordered kick panels that come with 4X6 Pioneer speakers. YO has kick panels with no speakers, panels with cheaper speakers or the top ones with the Pioneers. I believe they had either 4" round ones or the 4X6's. I read the 4X6's have a better sound than the round ones. I originally ordered the bare panels and purchased my own speakers, but could not find speaker grilles that fit, not even on Pioneer's website or places like Crutchfield. For some reason, 4x6's don't usually come with grilles and I sure wasn't going to have speakers in the kick panels without grilles to help protect them.

I then installed 6X9's 3-way speakers (again Pioneers) and put them in the fastback sail panels. I'm now deciding on if I want to use the factory radio and have it converted to modern electronics and inputs for an IPod or other devices to play your music and you can also get bluetooth installed to use your phone over the radio/speakers like a modern car. Or you can get a radio from places like Retro Sound that looks like the original radio and does the same stuff as above. Third option is to leave the original radio in the dash and wire it up so it lights up, but put a hidden modern radio with a remote control in the glovebox, under the front seat or possibly another location.

Sorry so long and don't know if that helps you any, but there are options like Mike69Cuda said above.
