changing seat belt color?

seems like I did this a few decades ago when my stash was short of belts. can I dye the belt portion with Rite dye?????? I guess it I still at the grocery store!? ha
going to use vinyl spray on the plastic parts.

I think opinions vary on that question on whether it is a good idea or not. Some have expressed concern that the seat belts might be compromised from boiling them to dye them. I dyed my original belts with the Rit dye and they came out fine.

Found out for sure that the powder RIT DYE will NOT dye seat belts. I ended up getting a can of Duplicolors Spray dye and that worked very well.
