How do you move a 20 million dollar car?

-
Without watching the video....

It is a car, get in it & drive it!

The most expensive car I ever transported was a 1939 Mercedes 540k special roadster....valued at $3,000,000 at the time.

I would strap in the same trailer I used to visit Carlisle. My car is not that valuable but that is what insurance Is for!

Just so we are clear, there is NO CAR worth 20,000,000 Dollars. Does not matter what some rich dumbass wants to pay for it. IMO.

And no way they were worth that much money. No way........of course my opinion.....I get a fool and there money, BUT no better way to spend that kind of cash?

I drove this F40...for about 50 feet.

It was owned by the owner of the building I worked out of who used it as storage for all his collector cars. The curator of his collection was a sweet old man who was a retired Cadillac mechanic. He would take the cars out every 6 months to start them and drive them around the block, or less. He liked me so he let me pull this one out of the building (not that hard, the door was 30 feet wide). He then took the hot 26 year old office manager for a ride around the block. 5 minute later he came back in dragging the right front tire the last 10 feet. Seems the caliper froze on him (turned out to be a swollen shut brake line) That was the last run it made as he later found out the kevlar timing belt was rotted (from no use, it had like 270 miles on it) and required the motor to be pulled to change it out. He also found one of the in tank fuel pumps went out. It was built into the carbon fiber fuel tank and required it to be cut out to be replaced. He was a smart guy so he hit it with 18V about 50 times and it finally let loose. It sold in 2012 for $710,000. He had a more valuable $2M Ferrari 288 GTO but I wasn't around when he took that one out. https://jalopnik.com/283-mile-ferrari-f40-sells-for-710-000-5878055

Didn't realize those Ferrari NART cars got that valuable. I had two of them in my trailer back in the late 80's.

My brother was a high zoot classic car dealer/ restorer and his business partner a big time real estate tycoon in Detroit.

I made all the fancy auctions and shows back then... I'd always raise eyebrows when I'd pull up to a joint like Pebble Beach with my ex- Uhaul Ford F600 pulling a 40' tag trailer. Then I'd roll out a Countach or 427 Cobra or a couple Ferrari's.....

I had a friend that was a Ferrari mechanic. He said they're huge POS's.

20M car? If you can't drive it where it needs to go, it's a worthless car, IMO.

If you need it across a ocean, for 20 mil, it damn well better be able to drive across that, too.
