As a few Canadian members know, I’m trying to recreate the window sticker for the Scamp my grandmother bought new in 1975. I’ve got the original bill of sale so have the total price and most of the options listed but no option codes and no prices for the options. One challenge was going to be knowing if I had all the option codes and then figuring out what the prices for each were. Figuring out the option prices in Canadian dollars would probably next to impossible, let alone the US prices. Not much was kept for 1975 model year cars compared to ‘68 to ‘71 cars (whether it’s Mopar, Chev or Ford). I figured I’d have nothing to lose by reaching out to the dealership my grandmother bought her Scamp from which is still in business and in the same building. The dealership owner said they kept old records and asked for my grandmothers name and the VIN of the car. He said it was my lucky day as he found the original Chrysler invoice. He then asked me for my address so he could mail the original to me! It turns out the current dealership owner is the son of the sales manager who signed the original bill of sale. So no more guessing on the option prices.

Another challenge is figuring out what the window stickers looked like in 1975. I’ve found ones up to ‘73 and they changed a bit each year in ‘71, ‘72 and ‘73. Another member (thank you Hemihead2) here posted a 1976 Dodge Dart window sticker which is quite different in layout and paper size compared to the ‘73 and earlier ones. I think it would be safe to assume a 1976 Plymouth window has similar changes as 1976 Dodge ones? However, I don’t know if the big change was in ‘76, ‘75 or ‘74? I’d be grateful if anyone has a ‘75 window sticker they could snap a photo of. Even a ‘74 window sticker would be helpful!

That is awesome. You should get a photo of the sales managers son holding the receipt.

I got lucky that my dad kept the window sticker and hand written bill of sale from when he bought his Dart in Feb of 1967.

You are much better off with that original matching invoice that any 'new' paperwork you could ever imagine!

You also just posted your original key cutting codes to any potential thief with a code cutter & access to your car......

Thanks and fixed!

How many different key cutting codes were there? One of my first cars was a Toyota and I remember sticking my key into another Toyota of the same model and it unlocked the doors.

I agree. I certainly wasn’t expecting to obtain the manufacturers invoice!

That's cool as**,- 10 gals gas $5.60, that's .56 cents a gal. at the dealer price

How cool is that??
Real cool.
Neighbour showed me his original bill of sale for his 1969 dart. Also cool.

What a great story! Keep up your work man!

Back in the late 1970's I found a 1952 chevy 2 1/2 ton truck sitting in a field in Pa. Had been there for about 10 years. Asked the owner if it was for sale, and he offered it to me for free. I asked if he had the title, he replied yes, but need to find it. I wound up getting the truck, and all the original paper work from the dealer. Fixed it up, and used it to carry one race car, and tow another. 235 CID 96 HP splash oiler 6 cyl. 4 speed trans.

Wow that’s cool! Even more so to me for 5/23 is my birthday! LMAO, in 1966.....

Congratulations Detective!
