Here's a pic of the frame as it came to me on the 53, GMC 5 window.

I think this is a old front section and crossmember on the rear. Its even notched for an oil pan....not to mention its below the bed side and running down hill like a mother..

Now the new rear frame section.
This is after cutting all the BS off but before i cut the ends off the C notch. (Remember i moved the frame up almost 5 inches so it hides inside the bed.)

Grinding off all the old proud welds and fully plating all the joints.

Huh, i thought i got a shot of all the gussets ground smooth and rounded over but i guess not...

Any ways now its starting to look like a frame that wont kill the customer....

Its amazing what folks will buy and pay for thinking "its a good deal..." well how good is that deal after i spend 2 weeks un ******* it????

:rofl::realcrazy::BangHead:

Here's a shot of a test fit with the new frame section hiding up inside the bed.

Nothing like cleaning up someone else’s mess.
And you can see where all the improvements can be made.

Nice work as always! Wish I wasn't 3000 miles away I'd love to come by and hang out and take some welding lessons! Hahaha

Yeah ofcourse!

This project came to me as a garbage rolling frame and a huge pile of parts. By the time its a truck again i will have literally have touched every part, nut and bolt so ask away!

The customers plan (not my cup of tea, i personally enjoy building race cars more but it is what it is....) is a street rod. 18" factory re po wheels, laying frame, new 350, fuel injection, 700R4, 9" rear, 4 wheel disk with assist.

Original interior and paint hiding a new truck underneath.

Heres a quick update on the 52.

Bed frame is almost done. The bed floor will be beadrolled aluminum and copper with the center cection on gas shocks. This way you can lift the center of the bed floor to gas up and show off the air ride.

Started running fuel feed and return lines. I will probably remake the feed line to the filter as it's not totally parallel to the return line but its a good start and will help me pull numbers for the re make.

Enjoy!

Not sure why the X bracing looks wonky in the pic but its dead nuts square.

Fuel line is just roughed in. Still gotta get them all straight and parallel.

Nice work. How about a picture from the back showing the fuel tank hanging. Craig
