Yes, while not the "cheapest" it will certainly get the job done. Aren't they also ground to take advantage of stock valve springs? I think they are. At least that's what the ads say I believe. That doesn't mean it's "optimal" with the stock springs......just that it "will work".
I think it's a good choice for what you're after Ron. I would also recommend the whole kit, as it's pretty important to match the springs with the camshaft. There are also videos on the Hughes site too I believe with the Whiplash cam sounds.
