Oh ok lol I never watched south park. You would be surprised how many people who dont like being called buddy. I dont got it. I don't understand why anyone would have a problem with it. I call everyone buddy it's just a habit I have done it for as long as I can remember. I have had several people mostly older men get very upset over it. I had this one guy when I was about 16 I thought I was gonna have to fight him I was working at foodlion and I was the cashier and I said think you buddy have a great day. He got all upset and and started screaming at me that he wasnt my buddy and pointing his finger in my face saying he was my elder and I should treat him with some respect. I was just baffled I couldnt figure out what i did I was just being friendly!! I apologized and he kept going so then I got mad. Pretty much told him to go eff himself and leave or we could take it outside. He turned to leave and I said See ya BUDDY! Haha I was a smart *** teenager. But i was just being friendly I have no idea why someone calling you buddy would upset or offend you?
That clarifies it a little, lol. My wife often calls me a**hole, I call her a b**ch back. My brothers.. hey f**kface! would not be unusual. I call one of my sisters, when I see her, I call her the dreaded c**t word.. it's a joke between us... I'm the only one that can call her that and live, though. It's fun when she's around someone that doesn't know us.. their faces just get that huge 'O' look.. and she'll pretend to be offended, then start laughing.
It's all in the context. I'm not gonna call my HR director by the 'C' word. Well, maybe on my last day. :)
