I recently bought a 1975 Plymouth Duster in the hopes of fixing it up. Three years earlier I bought a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500. So, I guess I am a Mopar guy after all.

I’ve never seen a side stripe like that before. Looks cool.
Welcome aboard! What power train is in the Duster?

Welcome aboard! As rumblefish mentioned, that's a stripe I havent seen before? Can you elaborate? Pic of fender tag?
Cheers
Steve

I've seen that stripe.

...but only on red cars.

That looks like the original paint!

Is it KB5?

Does it have a kind of wild 70's interior?

Welcome to FABO, I am pretty sure you are a Mopar Guy. Looks to be a great project car, lots of good folks here, enjoy.

The stripe is called a Phoenix. YY1 is right, I've only seen it on red cars too. I thought it looked a little bit like the 340 stripe. The duster has a slant six. The last time gas was put in the tank was in October of 2008. Motor does turn over, but I only gave it a try to make sure. Interior is pretty good. Back seat is in great condition, front seat will need to be redone. I post pictures of the progress later on.

Welcome! Another ‘75 A body saved from the wreckers. Nice colour combo too! Does that say ‘360’ or ‘custom’ under the Duster badge on the front fender?

More pictures would be awesome!

KB5 is paint code for bright blue paint, mostly known as B5 blue. Welcome to the site! :welcome:

Thanks for the info. I know one thing, the color is close to my mom's 1972 Duster back in 1976. My brother painted some stars and stripes on it for the bicentennial. That car is long gone:(

Duster Custom on the fender...close, but the fender tag would be in the engine compartment and would look pretty close to this one pictured. KB5 is a paint code.

You’ve got a ‘75 grill and ‘75 bumper guards but the fender tag indicates it’s a 1974 model (and built very late in the model year run on July 24, 1974). Interesting. If the VIN on the dash matches the VIN (VL29G4B524790) on the fender tag, you actually have a 1974 Duster. The 4 between the G and the B indicates it’s a 1974 instead of a 1975.

I hope that torsion bar crossmember isn’t rusted and broken like it looks, that is a damn cool car. Welcome Dean, glad to have you with us!
