Hi,

My '65 Dart (270 - 4 door) has 3 armrests. Both in the back are there, and the one in the left front door is there. The one in the right front door is in other words the one missing.

So, I have been all over looking for armrests, and several places seems to sell 10" armrest bases for the rear doors. I went out an looked at the left side since both the front and rear door is ok, same 10 inch bases. I measure at the longest part of the base when measuring.
So, then I think it is the same base in front and rear, so why does companies stress that it is for the rear only ?

Now I have found some talk about a 9 inch base for the rear, and 11 inch for the front.

LOL, so what are my car supposed to have from "birth".

It’s hard to say what might have been changed over the last 54 years. If yours appear to be all original then 10 inchers all the way around are likely to be correct. They would have been interior color. The 11 inchers front 9 inchers rear were used on the GT series and as far as I know were chrome plated.

My wagon is getting converted to a sedan delivery using the longer 2 door sedan doors. So I will be using the GT front armrest bases with their longer armrest pads and of course will be chrome plated! No rear armrests either!

Thank you. I was out yesterday evening to see where the old armrest had been, inprints in the door panel. It had been 10 inch, just like the other ones on the car. So, now I have to find someone who has a decent one, I mean not torn or cracked.
