Are distributors interchangeable on BBC’s & SBC’s?

What do you know about the 1968 3 speed automatic transmission? I think this is before the turbo 350.

First year for turbo 400 was 1964, for the turbo 350 1969, so if it's a three speed, it's a turbo 400 unless it's been swapped out.
