Been looking for a gts project and have found one...looks like I’ll have my hands full but would be a great candidate to restore I think

What should I be looking at to pay for this on the high/low end?

Any input is appreciated!

Yea, that rough, the column is automatic and the floor is a 4 speed, that's got to be rare.

$500 if it has a title. I would have a hard time giving $500 considering how little is left and how rusty it is.

Yeah, not much as that is basically just a shell.

Can you do ALL of your own work? And I do mean ALL of it. If you have to pay anyone else to do anything, you will be way upside down in it. If you CAN do all of the work, and if you would enjoy doing it, that is great. If, however, you are thinking that you can do a little here and a little there and come out ahead in the long run, you might want to think twice. I am really good with rust repair and panel replacement, but I wouldn't take on a project like that unless it was a rare car. Don't get me wrong, I am not in this hobby for the money but I won't be willing to invest $40,000 into a car that will only be worth $18,000 when finished. Unless you can do all of the work (and you enjoy it), you will be way better off buying one that is already done. Not only will you be way ahead financially in the long run, you will have the car to enjoy rather than spending 5 years fixing it.

Does the vin, fender tag, and rear trunk lip and front rad support all match a GTS?

Also, is there anything that makes it worth your time.

Keep looking. There are better ones out there. Check out the rear end, as was mentioned, and get that, if its an 8 3/4, for the next car.
I bought a rot bucket 66 B-Cuda, just for the 8 3/4 a few years ago.

There’s not much left of it. Perhaps $1,500 max and only because it’s in Canada. If it were in the States, perhaps $1,000 max?

So now that folks have provided some input, share with us the asking price.

Thanks for all the input!

They are asking 1300 - I’d take on a good chunk of it, but sounds like I’d end up putting way more in than it’s worth.

Hoods have some value, is it rusty? And the number of people doing these cars is shrinking, so some parts are not selling well. I noticed it does not have the sway bar, are the control arms there with the sway bar brackets? Big block, small block, did you see the VIN?

The hood is available re pop. I have an original hood that looks a lot like the one on that car. For $550. I am a lot of labor and time ahead to get a new one. That hood looks like yard art imo

In my own experience, hoods are often one of the hardest panels to get real straight after they have been beaten like the one on the op car.

I would pay to not have to fix that. I know there's a lot of people who are way more ambition than I am, but there are better candidates out there.... If you don't have the ability and resources to go through that; you will most likely get discouraged.

What he said. Do you have any idea how many people have gotten in over their heads on a project like that and wound up selling it for a loss. Try going to a Meacum or Barret Jackson auction. On the first day, there are soma true bargains to be had, and I bet most of them sell for less than the owner has invested.
