Here is my question:
This is a story that goes back 10 or so years. My wife and I used to own a 1966 Valiant, 4-door which so happened to have belonged to her grandmother. Her grandmother bought the car new. We had the car for a few years and sold it in 2010. We now have the opportunity to buy the car back. The person that purchased the car in 2010 has done some work to the car. He has re-upholstered both front and back seats, installed new tires and has repaired the brakes (they never did feel right while we owned the car).

The car is a daily driver and is in no way a show car. The car runs and drives pretty good but the body has some rust spots, especially one behind the passenger side rear door. Plus a few other dents and dings. There are other issues also, the radio doesn't work(didn't when we had it), the outside mirrors need replaced, radio antenna needs replaced, etc. The chrome is in very good shape. The car still has the original hub caps. The owner still has all the paperwork we gave him when we sold it to him, bill-of-sale, owners manual, repair receipts, etc.

My question is, what would you think this car is worth? He has shot me a price which I think is a bit high but I could be wrong. I made him an offer but he wouldn't budge off his asking price.

I do not have any photos so I know it's tough to estimate without seeing the car but what is your opinion?
