speedometer cable protection from heat

fklskv,
Is your B&M cable made of something other then the plastic coating thats used on every other cable? I searched on summit and didnt find anything other then the plastic casing style. Also do you have any pics of where and how close your cable runs to the headers? Mine is going to run very close to the headers and Im sure it will not survive unless I do something different from the normal hookup.
Krazykuda,
I have some heat wraps left from my fuel lines, brake lines and shifter cable. I was wondering if there is any gain to wrapping them in 2 different types of wraps? The one style I have is a rubber type material and the inside has a fiber style insulator.
It says its max Ambient temp is 2000*. Its part # DEI Fire Sleeves 010470
and i also have a foil style clothe wrap where the ambient temp max is 1,100* part #
Heatshield Products Thermaflect Sleeves 274035
So I was wondering if there is any benefit too doubling the 2 of them together? Would that make it more effective then using just one of the 2? I did that on the trans cable but was able to build a metal shield as well to block of the heat. Im not sure where this speedo cable will have to run yet but Im going to find out tomorrow night. I do know the headers will be in the way!!
Syleng1 that was something I ask a buddy about last night as we were talking about options. I looked and didnt find any metal cables. Do you have a vendor?
Thanks,
Rod
