Gday, I'm Down Under and have a USA built '63 Plymouth Valiant convertible.
It was imported from Ca many years ago.
The car has been making clacking noises under the dash ever since I put it on the road. Only does it on bumpy roads, but where I live they are mostly bumpy.

I think maybe wiper linkage bushings shot? But open to other suggestions. Assuming that I am correct, my next question is - where can I buy them please?
I see listings on Ebay USA, but they are for later models.
Any help appreciated - thank you.
Gary

Gary - before you start to throw parts at it, have you been able to definitely to pinpoint the noise as coming from wiper bushing?. If not, can you get someone (or you) to lay on their back with their legs over the seat and head as best as possible under the dash while The car is being driven on your bumpy road to determine what/where the noise is coming from? If it is the bushings I think Schumacher has them with their wiper pivot kit. Or could the wiper motor nuts that secure the motor to the bracket be loose. Try troubleshooting it and let us know.

Much appreciated Don. I'll take your advice when I get a chance, and then post results.

Have you pinpointed you noise issues yet?
Gday Don, Thanks so much for following up on me.
Truth is that we still are in winter here and that car I still have in storage.

Will let you know once I do the troubleshooting.

Again, thanks for your interest - much appreciated.

Ah yes, seasons are reversed, although in the Northern Territory it seems to be semitropical year round. I spent time in Darwin in 81 and 82 and the weather was gorgeous although I did miss the “Wet” as they called it - probably wintertime I guess.

pre 1968 had bronze bushing in the wiper linkage. If there is one plastic bushing in a 63, it is where the pitman arm attaches to the linkage.

Correct Don, it is semitropical up there. You would be glad to have missed the wet season I'd say.
