I seen your earlier pictures and thought the same thing. Mine are power tops and they have rams, a lot easier, looking at the picture. Seems to me that at the relaxed point ,with the top completely up would be the point of attack and the least load on the spring. Hopefully someone will chime in with real help for you. I will be watching and learning. I really applaud you on all your efforts.
