I would bet from the exhaust manifolds that's a 360.... 318 manifolds weren't that beefy... Unless they put different ones on truck motors...

Plus the kick down linkage is not from 1970, it looks like from mid 70's like 74 give or take...

I also think they got the valve covers on backwards, usually the pcv is on the passenger side... :BangHead:

Fun trying to guess what engine that is. I am leaning towards 360 myself. The exhaust manifolds, the cast iron 4 bbl intake came on the 360 Trucks, 360 with a 727 behind it . . Yes. Even looks like a 360 balancer on the front, the ones with the cutouts to remove weight for the external balance 360 cranks. So then that 727 will have the weighted torque converter too, to go with the 360 external balance crank. Nice matched up engine and trans.

Will have to see what Keith finds when he reads the block.
