Hi,

I'm trying to find if anyone has a diagram of the A833 mounting face pattern??

I know the bearing retrainer rings are different sizes, that's ok as long as I get a centreline.

Something like this but I need exact measurements to make an adapter for an Aussie Hemi 265 bellhousing.

Thanks!!

Brett

Anybody???

Looking for the bolt dimensions

I’ve got a 65 V8 and slant bell that I could make a tracing of the face where the 833 mounts to the bell if that would help.

I would imagine both are the same but for my own curiosity, i’ll Check both

The exact dimensions are probably in one of the old Direct Connection manuals.
Maybe the chassis book?

Hi Dan,

Thanks for posting. I've actually bought quite a few things from you and your service has been stellar so thanks!

Have I got the measurements right? Can you fill in the "?" questions marks pls

Kind regards,

Hi Chris,

Haven't got round to it yet but going with a 273 SB bell housing instead and will weld on the bottom ears for the dowels and holes. Much better option i think.

this is a good idea

I didn't think of that, would a 318 be the same housing as a 273?

Possibly. You need cast #2806081 or #2465523 bell housings for a 9.5" clutch generally for the Hemi 265.
thanks for the numbers, yep I don't think ill need more than 9.5

In ZA do you get a mix of Australia and USA parts for your hemis? I've seen a few models that were released there that we didn't get in NZ

The 9.5 is more for the tunnel so you don't have to hack it up.

We got a weird Charger over here which a combo of a Demon front with a Duster rear but it came, as most of the SA Vals, with a slant 6 or 383.

There was a special VH770 e37 here brought in by Chrysler South Africa but it blew the cam on the drive from the docks to the factory, and another VH or VJ with a slant 6 bought through a dealership but nothing else. I bought mine in Australia and brought it back here.

However, they were trying to do a 400ci with efi version and beefed up suspension in 1972 or 1973 here based on the VH or VJ Charger. Not sure which of those cars was the donor car. I think possibly the 770.

It would have been called the Valiant Savannah.

Lots of of VH and VJ and CM sedans and previous models, VE, VG sedans but no coupes.
Only early cud's and the weird US Demon/Duster Charger I mentioned.
